Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Family Ceilidh on Saturday 15th April ‘23 at Port Glasgow Town Hall, to raise funds for the Beatson. Also a huge thank you to those who bought raffle tickets, businesses and individuals who donated prizes, those who made donations, Jiggered Ceilidh band, the town hall staff and caterers. As I said on the night, my Dad didn’t like any fuss or money spent on him at Birthdays, Christmas or Father’s Day. Likewise during covid, when the family would send different things that would help to make life easier during his treatments or after operations, he would say “You shouldn’t have done that,” or “Don’t be spending your money on me,” when he deserved it all and more. I’m sure he would be happy that we raised so much for the Beatson, as he was so grateful to them, as we were, for everything they had done. It was such a wonderful night and my Dad wasn’t far from our minds, as I’m sure all of those who have had a loved one cared for at the Beatson. The Doherty Family x
