"Iain was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. He received many treatments at the Beatson and always had great faith and respect for all the staff. Unfortunately the treatment available at that time could not provide a cure and on 4th May 2009 Iain, having no strength to put up further resistance, had to give up his struggle. It was just 2 weeks after his fortieth birthday. The manner in which he conducted himself during his illness was an inspiration to all his family and friends. He would be pleased that the help and kindness from the Beatson staff could be remembered in this small way."
